Why we don’t offer customer collection or workshop visits
We often get asked whether it’s possible to collect an order directly from our workshop, or pop by to see where our products are made. And while we love that people are curious about what we do and how we do it, the short answer is: no, we don’t offer collections or on-site visits and here’s why.
Our workshop is a busy, active production space
Our workshop is a real working environment, designed for skilled joinery, machining, and timber preparation. On any given day, our team is moving large planks of solid hardwood, operating powerful machinery, and coordinating a production schedule to get custom orders out the door safely and on time.
Because of the nature of the work and the equipment we use, the space is not set up to safely accommodate visitors—especially those who aren’t trained or familiar with workshop safety standards. For this reason, we can’t allow members of the public onto the premises, even briefly.
We prioritise safety for everyone
It’s really important to us that our team operates in a safe, uninterrupted environment. That means keeping the space free from unexpected foot traffic, which could pose risks not only to visitors, but also to the makers and technicians at work.
Our insurance and health & safety policies are designed with this in mind. To remain compliant and responsible, we have a strict no-visitors policy—no matter how short the visit, or how local the customer.
Collections would disrupt our workflow
Because each piece we produce is made to order, we operate a carefully timed production and dispatch system. Introducing collections would require a dedicated handover area, collection scheduling, and extra handling—all of which could slow down production for everyone. It’s not a matter of unwillingness, but of ensuring we continue to deliver high-quality products on time to every customer.
We’ve designed our delivery service to be simple and safe
We know that waiting for delivery isn’t always as exciting as picking something up in person. But we’ve put a lot of thought into our packaging and delivery process to make sure your timber arrives securely, whether you’re ordering a small oak shelf or a long run of planks for a full wall installation.
Our delivery partners are experienced with large, heavy, and fragile items. Everything is packed with care to minimise movement in transit and reduce the chance of damage. You’ll receive tracking info once your order leaves our workshop, and we’re always here if you have any concerns.
If you’re ever unsure about your delivery, or want help choosing the right product for your space, we’re here to help. Just reach out to our team and we’ll talk you through your options—no safety goggles required.
